Like all Hindus, Pushti Margiya vaishnavs love to celebrate
LOTS OF festivals !
Here is a list of some of the popular festivals.
I have categorised them into various types of festivals
1) festivals that are specifically celebrated in Pushti Marg only
2) festivals that we celebrate along with all vaishnavs. Many festivals
are borrowed from other vaishnav sects and traditions.
3) seasonal festivals. Some festivities are prolonged (eg Hindola and
Khel)
4) some that are celebrated by Pushti Margiya vaishnavs along with all Hindus
5) All Ekadashis are considered to be festivals – hence I have listed
all Ekadashis through the year
6) over time, some local / regional festivals were added to Pushti Marg
7) All full moon and no-moon nights are considered to be
sacred and many are festivals too.
8) Eclipse is not a festival per se - but is a very special time and so I have
added it as a festival here.
